The director of the "Honcharenko centre", owned by an MP from Poroshenko's party, got rid of the employee who supported the community of the Annunciation Church.

The UOC reported that the director of the education centre in Kropyvnytskyi fired a teacher for supporting the UOC community.

As reported, on 28 July 2022, when Russian troops launched a missile attack on the city of Kropyvnytskyi, the “European Solidarity” party MP and founder of the educational institution "Honcharenko Centre Kropyvnytskyi. Education and Culture” Oleksiy Honcharenko spread a fake that during an air raid, clerics allegedly prevented children from the centre from entering the basement of the Annunciation Church of the UOC. This lie was actively supported on Facebook by the director of the Honcharenko Center for education, Victoria Talashkevych. At the same time, Talashkevych fired the English teacher Inna Lopata for her comment in support of the UOC.

Inna Lopata wrote on the page of the rector of the Annunciation Church Fr. Eugene Nazarenko: "I love this church, I know how much you do, and let everyone know! Your prayers are what keep our city going!". On the same page, Talashkevych replied to her subordinate that she considers such a comment "as an official letter of resignation from the Honcharenko Centre, where you have worked for 1.5 years".

The UOC Information and Education Department quotes Inna Lopata as commenting on the situation:

"I had a very good relationship with both the director and the teachers before this incident, however, everything changed instantly after I supported the UOC church. <...> She had already removed me from my work chats and informed my students that they would have a new teacher. I asked for a month's salary and a dismissal order, to which I received an incomprehensible answer from the principal: "According to current legislation". After that, she blocked me in all messengers without paying my salary and without giving me a dismissal order".

At the time of writing (14:15, 2.08.2022) Viktoria Talashkevych has not deleted her comment on Facebook about the dismissal of the employee. In addition, a vacancy for a new English teacher to replace the dismissed Iryna Lopata has already been posted in the "Honcharenko Center" group.

As reported, on July 28, 2022, MP Honcharenko wrote on his Telegram channel that during an air raid in Kropyvnytskyi, the administrator of the educational centre gathered the children and went with them to the Annunciation Church to take shelter in the basement, but "people from the church would not let them in". Church cleric John Vereskun refuted this lie, and the priest's words are confirmed by surveillance cameras, which clearly show the guard calling everyone into the shelter.

As reported, the NGO “Miriane” commented on the anti-church activities of Petro Poroshenko's supporters from the “European Solidarity” party.
