Metropolitan Nikolai of Kremenchuk and Lubny served a memorial service for the people innocently killed in the Russian missile attack on the "Amstor" shopping mall.

On June 30, 2022, Metropolitan Nikolai of Kremenchuk and Lubny served at the Holy Trinity Church of Kremenchuk a memorial service for the civilians innocently killed in a Russian missile strike on the "Amstor" shopping centre and sent a message of condolence to relatives and friends of the victims as reported by the press service of the Kremenchuk Eparchy.

At the end of the memorial service, Metropolitan Nikolai together with the priesthood laid flowers at the site of the tragedy.

"Beloved brothers and sisters in Christ! With sorrow I address you, great misfortune happened in our land. As a result of an enemy missile attack by the Russian Federation on the "Amstor" shopping centre, the lives of many people have been prematurely cut short. Parents lost their children, children were left without parents, and the families are experiencing great sadness," the ruling bishop of the Kremenchuk Eparchy wrote in his address.

His Eminence expressed his condolences to the relatives and loved ones of the victims.

"We pray for all the dead that the Lord rest their souls in the Kingdom of Heaven, where all the righteous abide," said Metropolitan Nikolai of Kremenchuk and Lubny in his address.

As reported, clergymen in five eparchies of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church conducted last rites for soldiers.
