Metropolitan Emmanuel of Chalcedon said that the head of the Phanar "is looking forward" to a visit to Ukraine on the 30th anniversary of the state's independence.

On May 26, Metropolitan Emmanuel of Chalcedon arrived in Kyiv to discuss the preparations for the visit of Patriarch Bartholomew to Ukraine in August 2021, reports the OCU press service.

“His Holiness blessed me to come to Kyiv so that we, together with the Orthodox Church of Ukraine and the relevant representatives of the Ukrainian state, discuss preparations for the visit, which will take place at the invitation of the high-ranking President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky. The Patriarch is looking forward to this visit,” Metropolitan Emmanuel said at a meeting with Sergei Dumenko.

As the UOJ previously reported, representatives of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry discussed with the head of Phanar his visit to the country.
